October 6, 2026 Case studies are so fun to read through. They're real learning opportunities and are ways to see what could potentially work for you, too. Case studies matter because they show you what’s actually possible when real people apply what they’re learning in their real life. In this case, we're taking a look at a beginning herbal student's journey into improved health and health self-reliance..... Our students’ wins are so fun to read because they’re living evidence that the confidence that comes from knowledge (plus a well-stocked customized-for-you apothecary) is one of the best investments you can make in your health. 🌼 REAL-LIFE CASE STUDY 🌼 NOTE: I can't promise these results for everyone (that would be illegal, and we're all different), but many of our students have experienced similar health freedoms with herbal medicine. Within Cindy's very first round of taking our family herbalism course, Ditch the Drugstore, she was able to stop taking over TEN prescription medications she had to take every single day. This doesn't even count the over-the-counter medications she was also taking--and she was able to remove ALL of those from her life, too. Here's a picture she sent along to me with bottles that all got thrown away. This was a small portion of the medications (prescriptions) she had been taking daily: Unfortunately, in today's modern times, taking this many medications or more is commonplace and accepted. However, being dependent on Big Pharma for everything leaves us vulnerable to price increases, health insurance shifts, supply chain issues, and of course, side effects. But it may not have to be this way for many of us. After Cindy took Ditch the Drugstore, she told me that she had been able to go off ALL her over-the-counter and prescription medications and now exclusively uses herbs and essential oils with skill and confidence. **IMPORTANT Safety Note: She had her doctor and medical team oversee her progress as she weaned off. Just wanted to be sure and mention that, because your medical team is an important part of this process. I would NEVER tell someone to stop taking their medications. That's not the point, here. Here's what she later said to me:
"So I know I've told you about how much herbs have changed my life and how grateful I am to have found you, but I wanted you to see what my life was like on a daily basis. I took all these daily, some more than once a day.....So I guess I was taking more than I thought! I'm in the process of disposing of the pills and repurposing the bottles. LOL This is what your teaching and instructing and helping has done for me. 😁 I am grateful for you more than you can imagine. PTL! 💖 " --- Cindy I LOVE getting these notes and reports from my students, and we hear them ALL the time. Our "wins" section inside our vibrant student village (our dedicated, private (off social media) community is jam-packed with similar stories. Herbs work. As a teacher, one of the things that's important to me is to help students reduce their fears around using herbs and essential oils. I'm so blessed to be able to help others find success in their herbalism learning. I can't promise that you'll experience the same results Cindy, Matt, Judy, Amy, Sarah, Cliff, Rose, Mary, Jen, Heather, Jean, Jessica, and thousands of others have, as we all have different situations, needs, and bodies. 🌼 BUT I CAN promise you that you'll love the journey, you'll learn a valuable legacy of lost (and trustworthy) information to leave your children and grandchildren....and you'll build better wellness for yourself and your family as you progress as quickly or as slowly as you choose in getting your family's unique natural apothecary built out. Here's a picture of what a just a little part of my own natural home apothecary looks like, and Cindy's and other students of mine now look very similar: Isn't this beautiful? A safe, effective natural home medicine chest. No synthetics. Nothing manmade. Just God's plants and knowledge of how to choose the right herbs and prepare them well. These preparations are made with medicinal herbs, essential oils, and safe, healthy solvents like vinegar, vodka, honey, glycerin, and water. Many medicinal herbs are also "food" herbs, but when taken in certain amounts and preparations, they double up nicely as plant medicine; you can make them right at home. 😊 Sounds pretty exciting, right? Now for clarity's sake, Ditch the Drugstore is NOT a course for medical advice (no diagnosis, prescription, promise of cure or treatment), and I'm not a medical doctor. I'm a trained and experienced clinical herbalist and professional level aromatherapist. That said, most students embrace that they are their own "first client" and begin to learn how to work successfully with their unique bodies and herbs on a first-hand basis. That's how I started my own path 20 years ago, too! Your family is different from mine and others' families, and Ditch the Drugstore is NOT a "generic herbal knowledge" course like most herbalism courses are. After working with students for years, I realized the need for customization, so I designed DTDS to actually help people implement herbalism for their unique family. Families with many children will need different remedies on hand than families with two elder members in the household, for example. When you know what to make, how to make it, what to do, AND have a valuable place to go whenever you have a question or need support, you suddenly have more health sovereignty and autonomy no matter the size and type of your family. I can help you to get this place of greater freedom and empowerment in your health choices. Ditch the Drugstore is a step-by-step proven blueprint where I help you:
The neat thing is that you're not alone in this! You have support from me and thousands of other students who've come before you. And...it's creative and FUN! ************************************ 🌼Ready to become your family's trusted herbalist? So many people are already signed up for this group of Ditch the Drugstore and are getting started right now! Our official Welcome and Orientation meeting is this Saturday, October 10th! NOTE: There are replays of everything we do in person (live), so you don't miss anything if you can't make it. Just imagine... you'll soon be reaching into your apothecary cupboard, which is filled with natural, safe, effective, and good-for-you remedies and treatments that are exactly what your family needs! You know what's in those beautiful jars because you made them yourself! Having ready-made herbal preparations for any common ailment gives you empowerment, confidence, and peace and saves you money and even time. You'll be able to provide your family with gentle, safe, effective homemade plant medicines....the medicine God meant for us to have. Plants that actually support our body in its natural healing process. Enrollment closes for this round in just a few days. Don't let another season go by, and then wish you'd have started "back then." Hugs, Health, and Herbs, Heidi P.S. Learning new skills is never a waste of time or money. September 30, 2026 Happy Wednesday! This week's reader question is one I've heard many times over the years. There are layers to this question that are important! So let's dive in.... "I do have a question, do certain herbs interact with one another?" ---S. George Well, herbs are filled with chemical constituents, and yes, these can interact, which means that herbs can and do interact with each other. However, the WAY they interact is very different than from the way drug interactions work,...
