Ready for herbs to change your life?🌿🌼🌿Scentsational Sunday's Herbal

11/8/2026

Happy Scentsational Sunday!

I'm a big lover of scents, and right now, I have a lovely chai essential oil diffuser blend going. It's making the entire upstairs smell cozy, warm, and like fall! (And, a couple of the essential oils are supporting our immune systems at the same time!)

Here's the blend for you, so I don't forget to add it at the end:

Chai Spice Diffuser Blend

2 drops cardamom (supports the respiratory system)

2 drops cinnamon leaf or bark (supports immune health)

1 drop clove (supports immune health)

1 drop ginger (anti-inflammatory and enhances circulation/energy)

3-4 drops vanilla extract made only with alcohol so it doesn't harm your diffuser (there is NO such thing as vanilla essential oil, and the oleoresin and CO2 extracts are too thick for diffusing from the bottle)

Enjoy!

Reader Question for Today:

I thought this was a fun one, and a great one for a Sunday:

"If I were sitting in your apothecary with you: I would be so mesmerized that I wouldn't be able to speak! But if could speak, I would ask you to look around slowly, think of all the memories and circumstances and conversations (with others and yourself) that culminated in your apothecary---and tell me ONE thing or experience, etc. that brings you the MOST JOY in that moment." ---Dawn G.

Wow!

It's easy to answer typical "how to" or "anatomy and physiology" related herbal and aromatic questions....but this one is REALLY challenging because I've got nearly two entire decades of herbal "lightbulbs" and conversations and memories in my brain that have brought me joy. And probably many wonderful experiences that I'm forgetting.

Dawn is reminding me, and now I'm reminding you, to stay present in special moments so we can remember the joy in them!

I think I'm going to clump a cluster of memories together....and these are all about when I offer an herbal or aromatic medicine preparation to someone, and they accept, and then a look of utter amazement comes over their face when it works so quickly.

Like the time I helped a man with terrible tooth infections, and he told me things were getting better and his mouth hadn't felt that good in over 5 years.

Or when I gave a business peer sitting in a meeting with me a roller bottle to help her feel better....and she in amazement said after a moment, "This is really working fast!"

Or when a friend of mine had a headache, and I didn't have any OTC's (cause I don't use them or have them, ever), and I offered her some willow bark tincture...and she looked at me after a moment and said, "Wow! The headache's gone!"

Or when my dad told me that a worker he had coming to the house for a few days couldn't stop washing his hands with my homemade aromatherapy soap (Citrus Dream----SO good!) because he said 1) it helped his skin; but more importantly 2) It made him feel happy (and THIS is what a good citrus essential oil blend should do for you!).

Another time was when I recommended a protocol for a client who was having some difficult chronic issues, and within just a couple months, things were much better, and her doctor told her she could get off her meds.

And on and on and on.....there are so many, more than I can even count.

And then there's the simple but profound joy of MAKING.

Just putting my hands into the herbs when making tea blends and smelling how beautiful they are. Or when I'm walking in the herb garden, and I'm seeing all these amazing perennial friends I know will be back each spring and that will provide good medicine for me and those I serve.

And especially when I just look out at the forest or go walking in its quiet, dark depths and breathe in the air of the trees....and remember and honor how GREAT our God is that He gave us all of these amazing plants for our health.

Wow. There's so much joy in all of these!

I wish there was just one moment I could write about....But the reality is, that I'm so glad I have thousands. I think the ones I shared here have one common denominator, and that is that I love helping people discover the power of herbal medicine.

I'm grateful for this question because it reminded me how blessed I am to be sharing this information with others who are implementing herbal medicine knowledge in turn for their own families and communities.....and so are our students!

You don't need to have it all figured out.....

When you have an herbal mentor or two (or several), in a great village and community of like-minded friends who are studying with you, a place to share your wins and your "wonkies," who "get" what you're doing and encourage and lift you up......

THAT's how a person best learns herbal medicine.

We can get all the information we need these days right at our fingertips. But that doesn't mean we know how to implement properly and safely.

It also doesn't mean we're actually learning anything, because learning comes from the DOING.

🎉Herbalist Coaching Week is starting tomorrow!🌿

And any and all are invited!

If you've signed up, you should have already received a note from me on next steps. Be sure to join our special (off social media) private community! It's inside our larger School Community, and we already have a lot going on in there.

If you have questions, just email support@healingharvesthomestead.com

Things will be hopping tomorrow, as our first session is going to be on why you need a learning path and how to choose one that's right for you.

This afternoon, we're having our Kick-Off Call! I'll be sending the link out right after I finish church, and you'll have it a couple hours before the call so you can join right in!

I'm looking forward to meeting any and all who are ready to take a few moments, invest a little bit of time, and find out how to learn herbalism in a way that doesn't feel so lonely and speeds up your learning process at the same time.....

You can sign up HERE..... And then feel free to browse your free course, enjoy the PDF's, and join in on the learning sessions all week.

NOTE: Can't make it live?

No worries. We'll have replays for a short time.

Hugs, Health, and Herbs,

Heidi

P.S. Bring a friend! Just send them the link, and have them sign up to go through Herbalist Coaching Week with you!

November 6, 2026 Happy Friday! I've been teaching women all over the world to use the medicinal plants God has given to us for our medicine....and essential oils, too, which are a unique herbal extract and that can be amazing to work with. And I've been doing this long enough that I've noticed there are three things that trip women learning herbalism up over and over.... It's not that you don't want to learn herbalism and enjoy health in a more natural way. After all, if you didn't want to...

November 4, 2026 Happy Herbal Wednesday! I don't know about you, but all this artificial intelligence stuff has really been stressing me out. I almost feel like it's made the last decade of my life spent writing quality herbalism content on my website and in books inside the School of Botanical Arts & Sciences completely irrelevant! Information has now become a commodity. Information---even "bad" information believed to be "good," is easily found in just a few seconds, where in the past,...

November 1, 2026 Happy Sunday! First, I apologize for not writing on Wednesday. Or Thursday, as I meant to do. The reason I didn't is because I have been in a healing state, heavy duty, since Monday afternoon. I finally had the second round of oral surgery, and this time it was more serious and extremely painful. This is Saturday as I write to you, and the entire side of my head and ear and of course the sockets, still hurt....although I'm no longer as incapacitated. Saying that makes me feel...
