How to get a fresh start🌼🌿🌼 Scentsational Sunday

February 23, 2025

Happy Scentsational Sunday, Reader!

This is a very short note as I'm actually on my way home from Southern Nevada and Utah today. It takes us two days to drive from Las Vegas to our small town in the panhandle of North Central Idaho, and I'm feeling it.

Luckily, essential oils and herbs to the rescue!

Can you feel spring on its way?

Down here in the Southwest, it's here! Trees are even budding out. Up north, our neighbor has been sending pictures us pictures of our property, and although we've missed a lot of fresh snowfall, it's already melting off. Spring is coming!

One of the ways you can make a fresh start is with your garden. Every single year as we plan out our gardens, it feels like a new thing. A new season. A new and fresh chance to grow good food and medicine!

My friend, Audrey, of Audrey's Little Farm, is an incredible gardener and homesteader. She's hosting a summit starting tomorrow!

It's the Spring Gardening Summit, and if you're ready to try some fresh new things in your spring garden, you'll love this!

  • It's FREE
  • It's filled with value
  • Four days of speakers to take your gardening to the next level...even if you're brand new!

Whether you're a young mom wanting better options for your family and kids or you're a grandmother like me who wants improved health, OR perhaps you just love gardening and know what a wonderful therapy it is....

You'll want to save your seat!

Join me in this special spring summit! It's the perfect time to get started thinking about and planning your spring garden!

Three Essential Oils to Help You Get a Fresh Start

First of all, I don't believe in manifestation. I DO believe that when your thoughts are in order, and you're going through your life with mindfulness and thoughtfulness, prayer and gratitude...your actions improve. And then your results improve too! It's not magic. Or woo.

Essential oils can help the fresh start process!

Let's find out how essential oils can help you to focus and think about what you want to achieve, what you want to change, and what you want to improve.

Working with essential oils for mindset and emotions sounds a little wooey, but truly it's not. The chemical odor molecules of essential oils hit the limbic system of the brain quickly and can even help you manage thought processes and emotions.

Here are three that may be helpful for you to try:

1) Frankincense (Boswellia spp) essential oil:

Frankincense essential oil has been used for thousands of years in various cultures. From the Middle East to modern Christian rituals such as use of incense, frankincense is one of my favorites when it comes to meditation and managing mindset.

It's grounding.

This means it gently calms without getting you tired, while helping you open your mind to new beginnings and changes that you want to happen. It can help you determine helpful actions to take by calming your mind.

2) Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) essential oil:

Bergamot is such a hopeful essential oil. It uplifts the mood, calms stressful feelings, and as a citrus oil is also wonderful for your immune system.

Do you find you just need a little boost?

Bergamot can help!

Inhaling bergamot is a wonderful way to envision a bright future and just feel happier in the moment.

3) Black pepper (Piper nigrum) essential oil:

Black pepper essential oil has been studied and found to be helpful in supporting people who are trying to quit addictions, including smoking and overeating.

It's grounding and supportive of decision making, too. Black pepper essential oil has a warm, invigorating scent that helps to move stagnant energy too.

If you're wanting to make change in your life, black pepper essential oil can be a truly wonderful helper.

Try this diffuser blend:

2 drops Frankincense

3 drops Bergamot

3 drops Black Pepper

You may just find that making a fresh start is a little easier!

That's all for today, as I must get back to my visit with my father, son, and stepmom. We only have a few short hours before we're on the road again to home.

I hope you enjoyed this new blend, and I hope to see you in the Spring Gardening Summit!

Hugs, Health, and Herbs,

Heidi

March 2, 2025 Happy Sunday, Reader! Goodness, it's March already! It's a good luck month! In today's note, we'll discuss sleep, stress, and why it matters. Did you know that 60 to 70 million Americans have difficulty sleeping, and 30% to 40% report insomnia? That's around 1 in 5 adults at any given time. Accompanying issues include sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome (RLS), and even narcolepsy (falling asleep at random times). Sleep disorders occur more often with age, and women are more...

February 19, 2025 Happy Weekly Herbal Wednesday, Reader! I hope you're well on this beautiful day! We're under a heap of snow in Idaho...but I'm back in my old stomping grounds in the Mojave Desert! It's gorgeous here, and we're doing quite a lot of desert foraging. We're down in Las Vegas this week for a business conference and to forage our special desert plants (juniper berries, Brigham tea, chaparral, and many others), and wow---I had forgotten how intense pre-allergy season can be!...

February 11, 2024 Happy Wednesday, Reader! This note will be brief today because I'm attending a business conference this week, then visiting my dad next week and seeing other family members who all live in this area of the world. My dad has been ill, and it's rather a hard time. I almost didn't write today, but then I realized I didn't write you for Sunday's note as I was on the road without internet. I think you'll find this quick herbal note helpful, especially if you're interested in...
