March 9, 2025 Happy Scentsational Sunday, Reader! How are you on this glorious day? I have some great herbal ideas to help you handle seasonal allergies and boost your immune system, plus a few special Daylight Savings surprises! Many people have reached out to me recently about their seasonal allergies. I used to suffer from these for most of the year for literally decades! When I started working with medicinal herbs---herbs that I could forage in the mountains near by our city of Las Vegas back then--- and then I learned how to use essential oils the right way, my allergies and SO many other health issues disappeared as my body healed naturally over time. Honestly, it was an eye-opening process, and one I'm so very grateful for. Prevention of seasonal allergies comes first starting with your immune system; then, we move to managing symptoms. Herbs and Essential Oils for Incredible Seasonal Allergy Support Here are some herbs and essential oils that can do amazing things for your immune system, either directly or via supporting healthy lymph flow in the body: 1) Calendula (Calendula officinalis) flowers These are warming and drying to the body and are one of the best lymphatic herbs out there. A lymphatic herb supports the healthy movement of lymph fluid in the body, vital to a functioning immune system. ******** 2) Chickweed (Stellaria media) aerial parts Super helpful with itchy conditions, especially of the skin. ******** 3) Cleavers (Galium aparine) I love this spring plant. It's highly nutritious and another very powerful lymphatic herb. It grows like crazy in most places, too, making it a wonderful "wake up the body" herb for early spring! ******** 4) Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) Yes! This one supports healthy hormone balance for women AND is another exceptional lymphatic herb. Red Clover & Rose Soothing Salve for Eczema and Itchiness ******** 5) Violet (Viola spp) These sweet little flowers are ready to pop up everywhere—and maybe you've already seen some! Violets (leaves and flowers) are powerfully nutritious and support healthy lymph movement. We just had our incredible and well-attended March Plant Masterclass chat on Viola inside the Confident Herbalist Tribe. When we dig into the benefits and uses of the medicinal plants that God has given to us, everyone is always amazed! One of the links below is a recipe for homemade deodorant, and your armpits contain many lymph nodes, some of them large--- Violet and Frankincense Homemade Deodorant Wild Violet and Yarrow Soothing Handmade Soap ******** 6) Elder (Sambucus nigra and S canadensis or cerulea) It's not time to put away the elderberry syrup quite yet! Did you know elder is a great helper for seasonal allergy responses? Elderberry Syrup with Dried Elderberries ******** 7) Nettle (Urtica dioica) leaves Nettles contain a powerful chemical constituent (quercetin) that provides a natural antihistamine effect in the body. Take nettle leaf in tea or tincture daily for about a month or two before you expect seasonal allergies. How to Make and Use Nettle Powder for Daily Health ******** 8) Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) essential oil Rosemary essential oil contains high levels of 1,8-cineole and camphor. Both of these are helpful for soothing inflamed sinuses. Plus, it supports healthy cognition, too! Rosemary Essential Oil: Why You Need it in Your Home Medicine Chest ******** 9) Peppermint (Mentha x piperita) essential oil Peppermint is another wonderful essential oil for supporting you during seasonal allergies. Plus, it wakes you up! Peppermint Essential Oil for Your Medicine Chest ******** 10) Inula graveolens essential oil This one is one of my favorites for people who suffer from difficulty breathing due to allergies, COPD, and asthma. Oh, my goodness—I can go on and on about more of these medicinal herbs and oils for seasonal allergy support! I hope you'll spend a lot of time on my website for more articles and information and tell a friend about our newsletter, website, and YouTube channel! ******************************** 🌼 It's Daylight Savings Time! 🌼 To celebrate DST this spring, I have a Fast Flash Sale for you🥰 Save 30% on any of the following courses until March 14, 2025! When I began learning herbalism and then many years later, aromatherapy, I didn't have thousands of dollars to pay for big certification courses. But I wanted to learn....badly. I knew in my heart that I NEEDED to learn. What I did was start with a great course that was a $500 back then, and then I supplemented with small courses on topics I wanted to learn about. I 've since taken several very expensive herbalism courses, totaling thousands of dollars (and now I pass this knowledge on to you). But I've always loved taking those fun, simple short courses. Especially if there's video and text, both. I still take short courses and sometimes a long course, even today! Learning never ends! I have a sweet Happy Spring Sale for you! You can take any or all of my short(er) courses for 30% off. If you've not dived into an herbalism course yet, these make it very accessible for just about everyone. Please don't be overwhelmed by all the free information. Bookmark our website and YouTube channel (please subscribe), then come back often to enjoy. I love to share and help people learn the valuable skills of traditional medicine-making from the plants that God, our Creator, has gifted to us for our health. It's now the time for us to step up and re-learn this ancient knowledge of herbal medicine that's been stolen from us so that Big Pharma, the food industry, and Modern Medicine can make jillions of dollars while keeping us barely alive. It's time for an herbal revolution! "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes...." Ephesians 6:10-11 Also, here's a quote I've really been thinking a lot about lately.... "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." ---Albert Einstein YOU are a miracle. This beautiful life is a miracle! Let's live this way for health and happiness! May 27, 2026 We just marched into May, and can you believe we're already about marching out? This month is special because we have two full moons, and one of these is the Blue moon, which will happen on May 31st. Blue moons are rare, and they're also farther away from earth than normal, too. How is your garden going? I have some great news about DIRT! We've had a LOT of rain here recently, for which I'm very grateful. For one thing, the weeds are easier to pull. And for another, our watering...
May 24, 2026 Memorial Day in America has become the unofficial beginning of summer. It's the end of the school year, and families are planning grand vacations...or at least things to do with the family for the summer months. There are gardens to tend, grills to light, family gatherings to enjoy, long weekends to rest into, outdoor projects to get done, and even a little extra time outside with bare feet in the grass. I love all of those things. But Memorial Day is also a day of remembering....
May 19, 2026 Happy Wednesday! I've been out harvesting and foraging as much as I can these past weeks: nettles, purple dead nettle, lemon balm from the garden, and the new tips from evergreens. Elder flowers are about to burst up here, and so are the hawthorn flowers and wild roses. I love spring! The Lomatium greyii is blooming on the hillside, and the arrowleaf balsamroot had an early show this year too. Horsetail is even already springing up by the roadside...but I won't harvest near a...
